End of season Tennis Tournament & Dinnner, Sat 26 Nov
With one of the biggest tennis turnouts of the year it was sure to be an amazing evening.
We started with a doubles tournament with 38 players. With the players picking their own partner we had an array of partnerships, the most common one being husband and wife duos.
Some players were a bit slow off the mark (Phil and Alison) and got going too late. Some didn't get off the mark at all (you know who you are!) while others played consistently throughout.
In the end it came down to the only two undefeated teams. It was a showdown we had all been waiting for. With all the spectators lined up on the sidelines to watch final in a one tiebreaker winner takes all format. They played some great tennis especially with the pressure of the crowd to contend with but in the end it was Gina Haran and Stephen McGale who were victorious. Well done guys!
