NEW Indoor Rowing - Crew Class
Rowing is one of the ultimate cardiovascular workouts and the Park Club is delighted to launch a new Crew indoor rowing class for 2012. Crew indoor rowing class which involves a great 40– 60 minute workout.
Help your heart and lungs get healthier and stronger. Rowing can help you improve your aerobic fitness, stamina, endurance, power and skill; and is a great cross training tool for improving your lung capacity towards multi-sport competition.
A common misconception is that rowing is all about pulling with your arms; in reality, you predominantly engage your legs, latissimus dorsi (your strongest back muscle) as well as your inner core muscles. Rowing is an all body workout. Learn how to engage your body more efficiently, learn safe and better rhythm, increase your flexibility and range of motion.
Smash your own personal barriers and records by improving your personal bests and improving your overall fitness. Rowing is also a fantastic weight-loss tool. Increase your metabolism and burn those fats!
Crew class takes place in the gym every Tuesday at 10am. New joiners are advised that this class is geared as if you are rowing in an actual boat crew. You will need to listen to the coach and be prepared to follow equivalent commands! Crew class is about working well with your crewmates, building towards good timing, cohesion and rhythm.
New joiners for 2012 who have never partaken in rowing or who are unsure of technique are advised to book in a rowing technique basic induction with Coach and Personal Trainer - Paul Persad. Come and book in one of your free training sessions in the gymnasium and also sign in your attendance in advance prior to the class.
