Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s from a belief that mental and physical health are closely connected, and has now become one of the most popular forms of exercise.

Here at the Park Club in Acton, West London, it provides a safe, low-impact, non cardiovascular form of exercise, suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Pialtes can help improve posture, muscle tone, balance & joint mobility. The main focus is on strengthening the body, placing particular emphasis on using and developing core strength.

Pilates aims to improve general fitness and well-being, in addition to reforming body posture and alignment habits. Pilates offers benefits to everyone; for beginners, it's gentle nature makes it a great way to get into exercise, but it can also complement the training of competitive athletes by developing strength and flexibility and reducing the risk of injury.

Our Pilates classes at The Park Club are mat based, structured within an encouraging environment, and accessible to all.
