KARATE COACHES

Our Karate coaches have years of experience teaching as well as competing in the sport before becoming coaches themselves. With years of coaching experience as well as their previous participation in karate our in house coaches ensure that there is always plenty of experience available on our coaching staff. All of our coaches are first aid trained, CRB checked and have safeguarding children training as standard.

Senior Karate Coach Alex Horsfall

4th Dan black belt

Alexander Horsfall (Alex) studied the art of Shukokai Karate under his father Sensei Robin Horsfall 6th Dan from an early age.  Sensei Alex has 15 years teaching experience as a full time instructor and is a 4th Dan Black Belt.  Alex has been National Junior Champion twice, was an England team member 2000-2003 and then again in 2013 and his honours include 3rd place in the Samurai National Championship in 2001 as well as National Heavyweight Black Belt Champion in 2003. 

Alex is married with 3 children. Away from Karate he enjoys Rugby, Rock Climbing and Brazilian Jiu Jujitsu. He also coaches kids rugby at Harlequins Amateurs in Teddington.
