KARATE FAQ'S

How do we get involved in Karate?

The only way to get involved in karate at the park club is to book a trial session with one of our receptionists, this can be done in person or over the phone. Our coaches will guide you from then on. There is no hard and fast rule about the age of a child and their ability and so for the best advice please speak to a coach or contact the club reception.

Can we drop in for classes?

Members can drop in for single karate classes but we strongly advise that participation is far more rigid and once you’ve established your child enjoys the class that you book for the term. Not only will your child get more from regular classes you will guarantee your weekly slot and place for the following term. If you are new to karate and wish to join mid term simply speak to a member of our reception team who will be able to advise on the most suitable class. This is primarily defined by the age of your children.

What should they wear?

Children should wear clothing suitable for Karate, ideally shorts and a t-shirt.  All Karate classes are bare foot, so there is no need to purchase specific footwear for karate classes. Most parents will ultimately purchase a karate suit for classes, this can be organised through our coach, Alex Horsfall.

What equipment do children need to bring?

All equipment is provided by the Club.

For the safety of children all long hair must be tied up.
